The government of Maharashtra is planning to take up the development of around 3,360 acres of land parcels owned by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) across the state and will be floating 150 to 160 tenders soon for the same, said Maharashtra transport minister Pratap Sarnaik.
The development of the state’s MSRTC’s bus depots across districts, talukas and rural areas will be taken up on a fast-track mode, he said while speaking at a conference organised by the realty industry body NAREDCO here.
The minister highlighted that MSRTC holds a land bank of around 3,360 acres, and architect Hafeez Contractor has been appointed to come up with a plan to develop the MSRDC bus depots. He emphasised the need to develop these land parcels and urged the realty developers operating in the state to come forward to undertake commercial or residential projects on these plots.
“MSRTC will be made the planning authority for these projects, and it will sanction the plans under one roof. For the same, MSRTC’s technical team capacities will also be built,” Sarnaik said. (Source The Economic Times)
