Amsterdam-based Icecat, a product content syndication provider, has acquired key assets from Decodata, a Dutch data solutions company specializing in home and interior design. The acquisition follows Decodata’s bankruptcy and includes its brand, domains, client and product data, and software. Icecat aims to integrate Decodata’s resources into its platform, expanding into the home and interior design market.
“The home living sector is exciting, but requires careful understanding,” said Martijn Hoogeveen, CEO of Icecat. Despite โฌ2M in backing, Decodata faced challenges with limited market response. Icecat will retain the Decodata brand for a smooth transition and market trust preservation. Hoogeveen emphasized the importance of perseverance and standardized data models in developing successful new categories.
Decodata’s B2B SaaS solution streamlines product integration into online stores, reducing time and costs by over 50%. As an evolution of Cafedeco, Decodata connects interior specialists, brands, architects, and retailers, providing a hub for sharing ideas and practical solutions. Icecat, with its track record in new data categories, is poised to carry forward Decodata’s mission in the product data market.
