Heimtextil, the world’s leading trade fair for home and contract textiles, is launching a new product area called Flooring & Equipment at its 2026 edition. This move aims to provide a holistic interior design buying experience by incorporating non-textile floor coverings such as vinyl, cork, laminate, and parquet.
The new area will complement Heimtextil’s existing Carpets & Rugs segment, creating synergies and attracting new audiences like interior designers and retailers. Flooring & Equipment will focus on floors without a textile structure, including elastic floor coverings, designer and luxury vinyl tiles, cork flooring, laminate, parquet, and other wooden flooring.
“Heimtextil is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the industry. Non-textile floor coverings are an ideal addition to our existing product range, and we believe they will appeal to new target groups, such as specialized floor-covering retailers,” said Margit Herberth, director of Heimtextil.
The new area will be located adjacent to Carpets & Rugs, allowing for efficient synergies between product segments and numerous new contacts. Existing visitor target groups, such as designers and decorators, (interior) architects, room and object furnishers, DIY and home improvement stores, garden centers, wholesalers, and retailers, will also benefit from the expanded product range.
A high-quality content program for the global carpet and floor covering industry will also be available. Heimtextil 2026 will take place from January 13 to 16, 2026.
