Dubai Design Week, the Middle East’s premier design event, celebrates its 10th edition from November 5-10, 2024. Held in strategic partnership with Dubai Design District (d3) and supported by Dubai Culture, the event showcases the city’s evolution as a global design hub. This year’s program highlights sustainable practices, vernacular architecture, and regenerative design.
Over 500 designers, brands, and creative leaders from 40 countries will participate through installations, exhibitions, and experimental mediums. Downtown Design features contemporary design trends, while Editions debuts as the region’s first fair for limited-edition art and design. Urban Commissions, an annual design competition, showcases innovative community furniture, with Oman-based Altqadum’s TukTukDum as this year’s winner.
Abwab supports designers from the South West Asian and North African region, exploring vernacular architecture and community-centric methods. Large-scale installations utilize ancient technologies, modern innovations, and materiality. Renowned creatives like Eames Demetrios, Lina Ghotmeh, and India Mahdavi lead talks, workshops, and masterclasses. The weekend Marketplace offers a curated outdoor retail experience with sustainable products, food, and children’s activities.
