Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) has created a stunning material-rich showroom interior for Marisfrolg Fashion Group in Shenzhen, China. The 2,900-square-meter showroom, named Marisfrolg Showroom, is located at the heart of Marisfrolg Fashion Group’s Shenzhen campus.
The design draws inspiration from the group’s nine distinct labels, known for their exquisite tailoring, timeless style, and luxurious fabrics. ZHA’s interiors, which include a flagship store, pop-up shop, homeware gallery, café, and outdoor courtyard, reflect the spirit of Marisfrolg’s distinctive labels.
The showroom design echoes the original “butterfly-wing” structure of the headquarters, exhibiting a cohesive architectural language of dynamism. Each label’s unique aspects create a different spatial experience that reflects their personality.
Sustainability was a key consideration in the design. The showroom is built from recycled aggregates, and its partition walls are made of glass-reinforced gypsum (GRG) created from wax molds that can be recycled. The flooring is made of recycled crushed glass, quartz, sand, and stone.
The ZHA-designed furniture and displays are crafted from recycled materials, including glass, plastics, paper, textiles, wood, and ceramics. These elements are intended to reflect and enhance Marisfrolg’s brands and merchandise.
The Marisfrolg Showroom serves as a material-rich gallery, showcasing the group’s commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship.
