Connecticut College will host the 36th Annual Ecological Landscape Design Symposium, a two-day event that brings together professionals and experts in landscape architecture, ecology, horticulture, and related fields to explore the intersection of landscape, ecology, and culture.
The symposium, which has been running since 1990, features a diverse range of presenters, including landscape architects, designers, horticulturists, ecologists, historians, anthropologists, and artists. This year’s event will include presentations from renowned experts such as Gerould Wilhelm, who developed a highly regarded technique for vegetative site analysis, and Wagon Landscaping, a French landscape architecture firm known for its innovative gardening approaches.
The symposium will delve into topics such as ecological restoration, cultural landscape practice, and fine garden design, with a focus on forward-looking and frequently overlooked landscape topics. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with experts and like-minded professionals, exploring the latest ideas and techniques in ecological landscape design.
The event will take place at the Cummings Arts Center, 270 Mohegan Ave, New London, CT. Registration is $395, and the program agenda is available online.
