The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has introduced a new online postgraduate degree programme ‘Sustainable Construction Practices and Project Management’. The applications for the July 2024 batch are open till April 30. Interested candidates who are seeking to make a career in the construction industry as project managers, construction managers, and sustainability consultants can apply at the official website.
Candidates should have completed their four-year bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, construction, and allied engineering and architecture disciplines with at least 55 per cent marks with 2 years of work experience (an applicant need not be currently employed to be eligible), said the press release.
Candidates can complete the programme in one to three years duration. Additionally, students do not require a GATE score. Candidates have to fill out an application form provided on the official website. The process will be completed after a sum of Rs 1500 is paid.
Each programme will comprise a 60-credit, 12-module curriculum designed to match industry needs claimed the release, adding that the faculty and researchers from IIT Kanpur will lead these programmes, lending their expertise to foster real-world application.
The program will help professionals gain the expertise to build and manage sustainable construction projects and will also talk about environmental management, legal and regulatory frameworks, and sustainability consulting added to the release of the technology institute. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of green building materials, energy-efficient design, renewable energy systems, project planning, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, risk and contract management.
