HOK (Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum), a global design, architecture, engineering, and planning firm based in St. Louis, Missouri, has secured two prestigious 2024 American Architecture Awards for its innovative designs. The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, in conjunction with the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press, presented the awards.
“We’re honored to have our work recognized again by the American Architecture Awards jury,” said Eli Hoisington, HOK’s co-CEO and design board leader. “These projects reflect our mission to create spaces that improve lives, inspire innovation, and benefit communities.”
Award-Winning Projects
1. UPMC Mercy Pavilion: A 410,000-sq.-ft. vision care and research facility in Pittsburgh, designed with universal design principles to aid visually impaired patients.
2. Berkeley Space Center at NASA Research Park: A proposed 36-acre innovation hub in Silicon Valley, aiming to accelerate collaboration between private, academic, and governmental sectors.
