India’s leading Stones Company – Classic Marble Company (CMC) organized a special study tour for the 1st and 2nd year students of Rachana Sansad School of Interior Design at its state-of-the-art manufacturing and processing plant in Silvassa on Jan 11th. Over one hundred students participated in the guided tour that offered them a first-hand experience of the various aspects of manufacturing marble and other stones. Interior Designer – Krish Kothari of KKD.STUDIO in Mumbai was specially brought in to talk to the students on architecture and design, and how it influences aesthetics of a place. The tour was aimed at informing the students on how stones have been an integral part of design through ages and how even today, in the modern era the material remains the most sought-after in surface designs.
“Students of architecture and interior design are a delight to interact with, to learn their perspectives on design and what they think about the profession. It was a pleasure for us to host this energetic bunch from the Rachana Sansad School of Interior Design. CMC aspires to give budding architects and interior designers including students from the discipline as much knowledge and first-hand experience as we can. CMC is the pioneer in creating world-class products and we want to offer young minds an opportunity to experience this for themselves,” says Mr Amit Shah, Managing Director, CMC.
CMC’s Kishore Trivedi and Ashok Chaudhary shared insights with the students on the manufacturing and processing of marble. The students were also given a live demonstration of processing a stone with the machinery and technology installed at the plant.
