Canada-based Centra Windows, manufacturer and installer of doors and windows, has been named Employer of the Year at the Langley Business Excellence Awards. This prestigious honor coincides with the company’s 40th anniversary.
Founded in 1984, Centra Windows has grown significantly, now serving customers across British Columbia and Alberta. CEO Garett Wall attributes the company’s success to its unique 100% employee ownership model, implemented since 2019.
“We’ve seen tremendous growth and success since becoming employee-owned,” said Garett Wall, CEO, Centra Windows. “It’s not just about profitability; it’s about our people retiring comfortably, sending kids to college, and owning homes.”
This award is not the first for Centra since its transition to employee ownership. The company has also received Canada’s Best Managed Companies and Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures awards.
Over the past five years, Centra has more than doubled in size, acquiring another window manufacturer and expanding into Alberta. Its workforce has grown from 220 to 550 employees.
“The awards and growth we’ve experienced are a testament to our people’s hard work and dedication,” Wall added. “This Employer of the Year award is the perfect way to celebrate our 40th anniversary.”
To commemorate this milestone, Centra is donating $40,000 to local charities through the Centra Cares Foundation, allowing employee owners to support causes close to their hearts. Four charities will receive $10,000 each.
