Boss Design introduces Eden, a groundbreaking modular pod system that redefines office design. Drawing from positive architecture and spatial design principles, Eden combines biophilic elements and modular flexibility to adapt to various spaces, from corporate enterprises to hospitality settings.
The Eden pod system consists of four modules, ranging from individual focus pods to six-person meeting spaces. This thoughtful balance between privacy and collaboration fosters work environments that prioritize comfort and efficiency.
“Eden gives designers the tools they need to realize the atmosphere and workplace culture they envision,” says Mark Barrell, Design Director at Boss Design. “Within a single cluster, you can provide focus working, formal meeting, and videoconferencing spaces, alongside a lounge setting – each with outstanding levels of comfort and respect for different working styles and levels of privacy.”
Eden’s design emphasizes human well-being, integrating biophilic elements like natural materials, lighting, optimized air circulation, and acoustics. The pods balance privacy and interaction, creating sensory-rich environments that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The system features frameless glazing, glass-to-glass corners, and a carefully selected color palette with natural materials. Timber acoustic panels and privacy screens add texture, reinforcing a connection to nature. Faux and dried organic foliage introduce calming effects, promoting focus and reducing stress.
Eden’s modular design allows for customization and reconfiguration, meeting the demand for adaptability in modern work environments. The system integrates fundamental spatial design principles, creating flexible environments that adapt to varying needs within a workplace.
The pod system is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring fully recyclable aluminum frames and glass elements, FSC-certified timber components, and recycled fabrics like SEAQUAL. Eden’s modular design also enables reconfiguration, refurbishment, or relocation, reducing the environmental footprint associated with traditional office structures.
