Birla Opus Paints, a division of Grasim Industries Ltd., inaugurated its fourth plant in Chamarajnagar, Karnataka, boosting its manufacturing capacity to 866 million liters per annum (MLPA). This makes Birla Opus Paints the second-largest decorative paints player by installed capacity.

The Chamarajnagar plant, with a 230 MLPA capacity, produces water-based, enamel, and wood finish paints using advanced emulsions and resins. The facility features sustainable zero liquid discharge, 4th-generation manufacturing technology, and end-to-end product traceability.
Birla Opus Paints aims to establish six manufacturing plants with a total capacity of 1,332 MLPA, investing Rs. 10,000 crore. Four plants are operational, contributing 866 MLPA. The Mahad and Kharagpur plants are progressing as planned.

Birla Opus Paints has introduced 129 products with over 900 SKUs and plans to expand its portfolio. The company has launched PaintCraft Partner, a franchisee-led painting service, and is available in 4,300+ towns pan-India.
