According to a report in Arch Daily, the National Pavilion UAE has announced the appointment of Azza Aboualam, an Emirati architect and Assistant Professor at Zayed University, as the curator for the UAE’s participation in the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, scheduled for May 10 to November 23, 2025. Building on the success of Las Vegas, Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism and Sphere Entertainment Co. have announced plans to build the world’s second Sphere entertainment complex in the capital. This mega-project aims to establish Abu Dhabi as a major entertainment hub in the Middle East. Under the agreement, Abu Dhabi will pay Sphere Entertainment a franchise fee for design usage and annual fees for creative content. Oppenheim Architecture recently disclosed its design for the College of Europe’s new campus in Tirana, Albania. This purpose-built campus, inspired by the city’s architectural vernacular and historical context, aims to foster cooperation and understanding between students, EU representatives, and the Albanian public.
