Bombay High Court quashing the rules framed by Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) for levying property taxes based on the capital value of the land under construction, which had forced several city โ based real estate developers pay exorbitant amounts as prohibitive taxes or Land Under Construction Taxes to the MCGM. Shriram Properties (โSPLโ) reported an impressive performance with strong growth in sales for the quarter ended September 30, 2022 (โQ2FY23โ). The Company has achieved sales volumes of 1.01 msf in Q2FY23, up 52% QoQ compared to 0.66 msf in Q1FY23. Aggregate sales value stood at INR 435 crores in Q2, reflecting a growth of 39% QoQ, compared to INR 313 crores in Q1FY23. Registration of properties in Mumbai municipal region stood at 8,276 units in October, down 3 per cent from the year-ago period, as sales momentum moderated despite festive demand, according to Knight Frank India.
