The inaugural BlueScope Steel Architectural Awards for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region took place on November 14 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, honoring outstanding steel architectural projects across the region.
A collaboration between industry bodies, including the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA), Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI), and NS BlueScope, aimed to recognize innovative steel uses in architecture.
Five award categories drew entries from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam, with 14 national competition winners competing for the regional titles. Judges assessed projects based on Design Excellence, Innovation, and Sustainability, considering aesthetic merit, functionality, efficiency, and community impact.

The awards ceremony, attended by 150 representatives, including Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia Ms. Danielle Heinecke, celebrated the winners’ contributions to their local communities.
