Japan-based furniture retail chain Nitori will debut in India with its first store at R City Mall in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, in December 2024.
The 1.2 million sq. ft. R City Mall, hosting over 350 premium brands, attracts 8-10 lakh visitors monthly. Nitori’s expansion into India is part of its growth strategy, aiming to enrich homes with diverse products at competitive prices.
Nitori plans to open 289 stores by 2032 and operate 3,000 stores globally, achieving a sales target of 3 trillion yen (INR 1.65 lakh crore) by the same year. The company also aims to open around 100 stores across Asia by the end of FY2024, bringing its total to 279 stores outside Japan according to a press release.
