ADNEC Group, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, has collaborated with Terrax Environmental Limited to introduce TerraTile, an eco-friendly modular flooring solution made entirely from recycled materials, designed for events. The unveiling took place during the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), held from April 16th to 18th at the ADNEC venue. The product utilizes recycled exhibition stand waste, including carpet, to create tiles for modular exhibition stand flooring.
Initially, the flooring will be employed by Capital Events, the event organizing division of ADNEC Group, for its various shows, including the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show, Global Media Congress, ISNR, and IDEX. Manufactured in the UAE, the product will also be accessible to external exhibition organizers and exhibitors seeking to incorporate more sustainable materials into their stands.
TerraTiles, crafted entirely from recycled waste and fully recyclable Terra tiles, represent a fully sustainable circular product. Each TerraTile, equivalent to over five kilograms of recycled waste, presents a practical and eco-conscious alternative to traditional flooring options. At the end of their lifecycle, TerraTiles can be recycled to generate new ones, completing the sustainable loop.
The TerraTile product was showcased at ADNEC Groupโs stand at the WFES.
At the signing of the contract between the partners, Humaid Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and group CEO ,ADNEC Group, said, โTerraTile is a revolutionary product that underscores ADNEC Groupโs commitment to sustainability in the events industry. By prioritising sustainability in our events, we not only reduce our ecological footprint but also inspire others to join us in building a greener future for the industry.โ
Theresa Wernery, General Manager ,Terrax, said, โTerrax is delighted to have partnered with ADNEC Group on this groundbreaking circular product. Through this collaboration, single use exhibition carpet, along with other ordinarily non-recycleable waste, will be transformed into durable raised exhibition flooring. TerraTile will also significantly reduce the use of plywood at ADNEC Group and enable more efficient and less wasteful stand building.โThe project receives backing from a AED100 million (US$27.2 million) research and development fund initiated in 2022 by ADQ, an investment and holding company headquartered in Abu Dhabi.
