The World Architecture Festival (WAF), the premier international event celebrating live architectural excellence, will be hosted at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, from November 6 to 8, 2024.
At WAF, the global architecture community comes together to celebrate innovation, share knowledge, network, and seek inspiration. Each year, WAF presents the world’s largest live-judged architecture awards program, showcasing exceptional design through presentations by architects to distinguished delegates and global judging panels.
The 2024 festival will feature a diverse program, including keynote talks, live judging of finalistsโ projects, a gallery displaying all award entries, an exhibition area, and a range of networking and social events. Highlights include the gala dinner where the overall winners will be announced and a tour program of Singapore’s architectural landmarks.
This year’s conference theme, “Tomorrow,” will explore how emerging trendsโsuch as demographic shifts, urbanization, digital technology, artificial intelligence, immersive environments, and cultural changesโwill impact architecture, urban design, landscape, and interior design.
Keynote speakers for the festival include Kai-Uwe Bergmann from BIG, Emre Arolat, co-founder of EAA, John Blythe from Foster + Partners, Mario Cucinella of Mario Cucinella Architects, Kim Herforth Nielsen from 3XN, and Ma Yansong of MAD. Additional speakers can be found on the WAF website.
The theme, inspired by Reyner Banhamโs vision as a “historian of the immediate future,” aims to shed light on potential future developments in architecture and design. Speakers will discuss anticipated changes and how their work reflects these evolving trends.
