Vili and Vé Architecture Studio’s latest project, an office in Kerala, exemplifies a perfect balance between simplicity and quirkiness. The design team, comprising Sreejith Sreekantan, Rafseena Sedeed, Abdul Jaleel, and Muhammed Sabique, crafted a unique space that reflects the client’s brief.
The office’s striking color scheme features a bold contrast between pristine white and vibrant apricot-red. The reception area exudes elegance with a sleek white counter, soft rear lighting, and white louvred panels. Terrazzo flooring with custom-patterned tiles and pebbles adds texture and visual intrigue.
As one navigates the office, the apricot-red ceiling creates a sense of visual continuity, making the area feel more expansive. Workstations are designed with future growth in mind, offering a seating arrangement that exceeds current capacity by 20%. Collaboration and workflow are streamlined, thanks to the proximity of manager cabins and meeting rooms.
The office seamlessly blends breathtaking views of the Western Ghats with its interior design. Customer lounges feature an open layout, complemented by a nearby meeting table and a distinctive cage-like casual seating area. Barstools in coral blue, mustard yellow, and light grey add a lively splash of color.
Semi-enclosed “cages” made from thin rods provide privacy for closed discussions while maintaining an open feel. Cosy lounge pods with mustard-yellow pouffes and compact light-blue workstations add a playful touch. Oversized chess pieces on a textured pedestal spark creativity and conversation.
The office boasts a 5,000-square-foot terrace with breathtaking views, shaded pergolas, and thoughtfully arranged furniture. A 50-seater open auditorium caters to various functional needs.
