Mehra’s : Dipttii Khanna Designs Exuding a warm elegance with a sophisticated, opulent approach, this Mumbai home has been designed for a unique experience. Spread across 1500 sqft, this 3BHK apartment is a warm and inviting abode which was the key element in the client’s brief. Along with a cosy space, the client also desired a luxurious aesthetic that could enrich their experience in this house. A foyer greets you right off the main entrance. Straight up ahead, it opens into the main living space. The living room, the dining room and bar, and the puja room have been laid out strategically in the main open space, while also ensuring that their design style distinguishes them. The living room features a combination of dark veneer, mirrors and grey Italian marble for the overarching theme. A play of colours and textures is achieved through the floral, beaded style adopted in the soft furnishings. The aesthetic of this room was a result of the varying design preferences of the client and his wife. Next to the family space, the dining area features a mirrored accent wall, making the space feel warm and spacious at the same time. Right opposite, is the dynamic bar area sporting a backlit, fluted semi-open bar. This bar has been designed for maximum storage capacity, extending the floral, bohemian look through the design of its counterfront. The puja room has been carved out in the central area and highlights an intricate work of marble and mother-of-pearl inlay. The main foyer opens up to the kitchen to the right. The minimal grey cabinetry sheds a spotlight on the organic marble flooring and geometric patterns on the overhead shelves. The master bedroom adopts a grey and wooden theme, making it a cosy space. A semi-island bed interestingly creates an open walk in wardrobe behind it. The bedroom features a golden inlay on the walls which also extends as the theme of the master bath, which is decked out in black, white and gold. The son’s bedroom has been designed as a gamer’s den. A blue and grey theme along with neon RGB lights gives this room a distinct appearance. A quirky combination of terrazzo and bright blue along with the use of LED profile lights, bring the bathroom to life. The final bedroom in this house is the daughter’s bedroom which adopts an angelic, pastel theme. This room features a queen size bed with a bunk bed over it. Spacious shelves, a dresser and a study area complete the functionality of this room. Even with the design that is optimised for storage, the room features a spacious open area which can be used for playing. With various styles catering to the varying requirements of each room, this house is custom-made to fit the client’s needs. A luxurious yet inviting space, this Mumbai abode crafts a unique narrative through a bold and imaginative design style. Fact File Name of the Project: Mehra’s …
