Newcastle-based plumbing merchant Crossling reported a significant increase in profits to £9.6m for the year ended December 2023. Turnover rose to £51.6m from £49.2m, despite operating with lower staff numbers.
The 150-year-old company, employing nearly 200 people, operates 14 outlets across northern England. Directors expressed satisfaction with the results, citing increased turnover and gross profit.
Following its acquisition by UK Plumbing Supplies in September, Crossling will trade as a brand within the company. The business is optimistic about its future performance under new ownership, anticipating benefits from being part of a larger group.
