A three story high AgroSci Aerogation™ Green Wall has been installed in the lobby of 1000 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington, Va., a signature office tower just across the Potomac River from Washington D. C.

The wall was officially inaugurated at a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday.

Greenstreet Gardens, AgroSci’s Mid-Atlantic distributor, designed and installed the green wall at the building, which is managed by Monday Properties. The approximately 2,600-plant wall is the largest application yet of AgroSci’s patented Aerogation™ technology, which purifies air naturally on an industrial scale.

“We are thrilled to see one of our walls at such a great property in such a fantastic location,” AgroSci, CEO, Chris Pianta said. “Ray Greenstreet and his team did a superlative job designing the wall and installing our system. We greatly appreciate Monday Properties’ decision to choose our product. Our unique Aerogation™ technology will naturally cleanse tons of toxins, impurities and allergens from the building’s air without filters or sequestration.”

“This project is a big leap forward for Aerogation™,” AgroSci President Mark Prescott said. “Kudos to Greenstreet Gardens for their design and installation work and thanks to Monday Properties for their choice of us. The wall is not only a technical marvel, but also an aesthetic triumph. In addition to enabling tenants and visitors to breathe easier, the wall will heighten wellbeing and wellness.”

Thanks to Aerogation™, the living wall, one of the largest in the nation, will clean more than 1.2 million cubic feet of air a day without filters or sequestration. Aerogation™ accomplishes this by delivering air into root systems, amplifying the natural air-purifying capability of each plant about 200 times. That means the wall’s approximately 2,600 plants have the cleaning power of about 520,000 houseplants.

“It’s like putting a forest in your building,” Pianta said. “We have only begun to scratch the surface of Aerogation™’s potential.”

The 1000 Wilson Blvd. green wall is about twice of the size of the next biggest Aerogation™ installation, a living wall inside the ballroom of 1 Hotel South Beach in South Beach, Fl. The green wall at Wilson Blvd. replaces aluminum panels, giving the lobby an entirely new look and feel.
