Steelcase, a global leader in workspace design and office furniture is creating solutions that reflect the best in design, innovation and technology. The newly expanded and redesigned showrooms were awarded the Best in Competition for the IIDA/Contract Magazine Showroom & Booth Design Competition at North America’s largest design exhibition and conference, NeoCon 2018.

Steelcase aims to highlight a new vision for the future of work by introducing smart + connected’ workplaces that can improve employee experience and foster connections at work. The recently launched solution, SILQ, won the Best of NeoCon Innovation Award. “We are honoured that our efforts to deliver high-performing spaces and solutions have been recognised by the prestigious NeoCon. The idea is to appeal to every employee’s personal expression. While ideating for SILQ, it was clear that we wanted to create a chair that’s simple, more like an organism that operates intuitively and invites the human body to participate in the experience”, says Mr. Jim Keane, President and CEO.

According to a Steelcase study titled, Inside Innovation, workers are looking for spaces that support informal interactions and enable focused work. About 38% want more access to private spaces and 37% want better ergonomics. The NeoCon milestone is a testament to Steelcase’s creativity and commitment to provide a broader array of choices that facilitate a better day at work and meet these needs.

“Steelcase will continue to introduce a broad range of innovative solutions inspired by an in-depth research of people and market needs. We believe that the already award-winning SILQ chair will help leading Indian organisations create an agile and flexible work culture. Our aim is to offer our customers easy access to more choices and our newly launched solutions will prove to be unmatched for Indian workforce”, says Mr. Praveen Rawal, Managing Director, Steelcase India and South East Asia.

Work is constantly evolving and so should our offices. High performing spaces have converted themselves from corporate offices to creative studios. The Steelcase vision is a reflection of the way work is changing today and what it will look like tomorrow. The need to design futuristic solutions is not just an option but a business imperative that has never been more important than in today’s rapidly evolving day and age.
