
Philips Lighting yesteday announced that Harsh Chitale, CEO – South Asia, Philips Lighting, has been appointed CEO of its Business Group Professional, reporting directly to CEO Eric Rondolat. For his new role, Chitale will relocate to the Netherlands on September 1.
Sumit Joshi, Head of Marketing Excellence, will succeed Chitale as CEO – South Asia, reporting to Murali Sivaraman, Market Group Leader – Growth Markets at Philips Lighting.
“The new appointments reflect the company’s commitment to leadership development and our tradition of growing talent across markets,” said Sivaraman. “This also emphasizes the importance of the South Asian operations for Philips Lighting. I would like to thank Harsh for his contribution to the business. Under his leadership, we significantly expanded our market leadership in LED and Professional lighting and accelerated our pace of innovation by building a strong local R&D capability. I am pleased to welcome Sumit to his new role. I am confident that he will build on our strong momentum and drive the South Asian business further,” Sivaraman added.
