Keeping true the values of innovation and sustainability, Parryware, in association with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), have taken the initiative to power the “GRIHA Summit 2017”. Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) attempts to minimise a building’s resource consumption, waste generation, and overall ecological impact within certain nationally acceptable limits and benchmarks.
The theme of the two days summit is ‘Transforming Habitats’ which focuses on driving design and construction of sustainable habitats across the country. The major issue of relationships between urban governance and capacities to transform, innovate and shape the future of the cities, will be discussed.
The annual summit serves as a knowledge sharing platform amongst government bodies, academia, civil society organisations and professionals from different disciplines like architecture, engineering and construction. The GRIHA 2017 summit, is in line with government’s agenda for smart cities, inclusive growth and role of technology in sustainable development. It focuses on the future of construction technologies, tackling the growing cooling demand through co-operation and co-creation of models for green cooling technologies, growing water scarcity in cities, choosing green products and techniques for sustainable development. Also, the issue and challenges in green financing, transforming habitats through sustainable and resilient buildings, policy tools to promote energy efficiency in buildings, health & well-being and environmental quality, will be addressed.
