In a landmark development aimed at addressing housing challenges and fostering inclusive urban growth, the Maharashtra Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has approved the highly anticipated state housing policy, ‘Majhe Ghar – Majhe Adhikar’ (My Home – My Rights). Backed by an investment outlay of ₹70,000 crore, the policy targets the construction of 35 lakh (3.5 million) homes over the next five years, marking a transformative step in Maharashtra’s housing sector.
The real estate industry has hailed this initiative as a game-changer, emphasizing its potential to reshape Maharashtra’s urban landscape.
Mr. Prashant Sharma, President, NAREDCO Maharashtra, praised the policy, stating:
“‘Majhe Ghar – Majhe Adhikar’ is a significant move towards achieving Housing for All in Maharashtra. With a ₹70,000 crore investment and a focus on slum rehabilitation, redevelopment, and the MahaAwas Fund, this policy lays a strong foundation for inclusive urban growth. It promises to create employment opportunities, boost the real estate sector, and provide dignified housing for citizens across all income groups.”
