LafargeHolcim to invest CHF 200 million in Indian cement industry

According to a report by World Cement, LafargeHolcim, a leading manufacturer of building materials headquatered in Jona, Switzerland is set to strengthen its presence in the Indian cement industry in the North, including Rajasthan and Delhi, by investing CHF 200 million.

The new plant, which is being set up by the LafargeHolcim’s subsidiary Ambuja Cement, will have a clinker capacity of 3.1 million tpy and the commissioning of the plant is expected 2H20.

“India is the second biggest global cement market and is forecasted to continue to see high growth rates. We are excited to invest in this highly attractive market to further strengthen our footprint and to reinforce our leading building materials position in India,” said Jan Jenisch, Group CEO of LafargeHolcim.
