The GDA is planning to set up a commercial complex modelled on Gurgaon’s Cyber Hub in Kaushambi and has earmarked 10,000 square metres of land near Raddison Blu hotel for it. District magistrate & GDA vice-chairperson Ritu Maheshwari on Wednesday inspected the site and instructed the authority’s chief architect and town planner to make a plan for the project.

Ishtiaq Ahmed, GDA chief town planner, said, “To be built on a PPP model, the proposed complex will house different eateries where all national and international food chains will be invited to open their outlets.”

To be built on the lines of the Gurugaon Cyber Hub, this complex will be a 3-storey complex and it will be completed by October 2018.

The tendering process will start after the municipal elections and the site has been chosen keeping in mind the presence of the expat community in the township.

“The Dilshad Garden-New Bus Stand Metro line and the Rapid Rail are coming up in the neighborhood, which will change the face of Ghaziabad and a commercial complex will go a long way in boosting the image of the city as it will attract people from all over NCR,” added Ahmed.

The DPR will be prepared after tenders are floated and construction work will be handed over to a private company on PPP model. The profits will be jointly shared by GDA and the company.
