Honeywell enters into Professional Audio Speakers market; India becomes the first market to introduce ‘ProSound’ Speaker series

Honeywell, world’s leading player in the connected building technology , has enhanced their portfolio in the building technology segment, by launching professional audio speakers under the ProSound series.  The US based MNC has decided to test launch the new product segment in India market before taking it to other High Growth Regions (HGR) in the ASEAN, Middle East, etc.

The Honeywell ProSound range will be available in three series   ProZeta, ProAlpha and ProZoe with clearly differentiated target audience.  While ProZeta series provides clear audio in easy to transport and set up models, the ProAlpha range offers a series of high-definition speakers ideal for clubs, and venues which require high-quality amplification.  The ProZoe is the top model which comes with 32-bit DSP processor and a software to maximise the built in DSP engine. This range comes in versatile cabinets designed to suit indoor and outdoor requirements.

“We were already into the audio game for long with our PAVA (Public Address Voice Alarm).  We are now expanding that portfolio to enter a new market segment for Professional Audio system.  So it is an adjacent segment for us,” said Jasmeet Singh Bhatia, Strategy & Marketing Leader, Honeywell Building Products.

He said that Honeywell sees India as a “next growth engine” and has been investing heavily into the market in terms of manufacturing facilities, R&D centre, technical and sales network.  “No other company has made such commitment into this market.  That’s why we decided to incubate the ProSound range in the India market for a year before taking it into other markets,” he said.

When asked about the market size and opportunities in the India market for ProSound range, Bhatia said that the professional Sound system market is estimated to be US$ 100 million and there is enough room for large growth in the segment.  “We have direct sales in 15 cities in India and work with channel partners in another 45 to 50 cities.  We have very deep understanding of this market.  We will leverage that strength and relationships in the end user market for ProSound solutions going forward,” he said.  Bhatia said that they will explore both Installation model as well as the Rental market model to have a wider reach in the market place.

Honeywell feels that it is the right time to enter the market as India is in the inflexion point of building critical infrastructure such as smart cities, entertainment venues, hotels, sports facilities, etc. Talking specifically about Hotels and hospitality segment, Bhatia said that the hospitality segment is a core focus market for Honeywell with strong partnerships on a global level with leading chains.  “We have dedicated product lines for hospitality segment like Inncom which is relevant to guest room automation and very popular.  In the ProSound range also, ProZeta and ProAlpha range are quite relevant to hospitality customers.”
