HomeLane has launched 3D virtual meeting platform SpaceCraft for home interior designing.
The platform enables real-time 3D rendering of a space, say a kitchen, and enables customers and designers to discuss design ideas visually and instantly. The product also has an integrated pricing engine that helps customers know the cost implications of every design change in real time.
“This (interior design) business needs collaboration between customer and designer. The customer needs to take out a few hours to meet with the designers. It is a visual subject. Our customers had to come to our experience centre,” said Srikanth Iyer, CEO, HomeLane.
The home design startup, backed by Sequoia Capital and GrowthStory among others, was founded in 2014 and has presence in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
It has raised $15 million (about Rs 96 crore) so far. At SpaceCraft, a customer can look at and choose fixed furniture, loose furniture, paints, wallpapers, false ceilings and cabinets among other options.
“The basic constraint was time. We could not go to the showroom. They (HomeLane) said I can have a remote session. It was a great experience,” said Antony Raj, one of HomeLane’s earliest customers to use SpaceCraft.
