
The home fashion trade fair by Heimtextil India and Ambiente India held from June 20- 22, 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi saw a total of 198 exhibitors and attracted 7,457 visitors.
Textile Minister Smriti Irani addressed and unveiled the cushion representing ‘Fabrics of India’ at the fair.
There was a dedicated day for Hospitality and Retail procurement that brought together purchase managers and retailers from across the country. According to the press release, many exhibitors confirmed to have closed orders through the pre-arranged buyer-seller meet format in the business match-making programme.
Speaking at the juncture Ajay Arora, Managing Director, D’decor, said, “Increased customer walk-ins and over 130 new inquires – for D’decor, this edition has been even better. We truly believe in the business effectiveness of the platform and will continue to support it.”
Not limiting to product sourcing, the fair also hosted features inspiring new design visions including showcase of installation designed by Limca record holder Kanika Bawa, curated with fabrics from D’decor and a rare combination of fabrics, textiles and embroideries. Added to it were the creative visions based on themes in the 2017 International Trendbook – Exploration with Nature, Heritage, Planet and Illusion laid out at the Interior Lifestyle Award (ILA) Experience Zone.
The awards ceremony witnessed the who’s who of the home fashion world present to announce the winners. Anshul Malhotra from Mandi and Himanshu Dogra also from Himachal Pradesh were declared as the face to represent India at the Ambiente and Heimtextil fairs in Frankfurt in 2018.
Speaking on the eve, Dogra said, “I have already learned and gained so much from this platform, but there is still a long way to go.”
The co-located fairs will be back in New Delhi in June 27-29, 2018.
