
DakshinaChitra is organising a workshop on “conservation in architecture” for students of architecture and young architects from July 15 to 16.
The aim of the workshop is to create awareness among the youth about the need for conservation.
Subjects such as ‘Architecture: principles and philosophy’ and ‘Practical aspect of conservation and case studies’ will be discussed.
The two-day workshop will be handled by conservation architect Benny Kuriakose, who has popularised the cost-effective energy-efficient construction style of his mentor and veteran architect Laurie Baker across India.
The workshop fee is Rs 3000, and it includes accommodation and food.
