Centre gives nod to extension of Dhanushkodi Railway Line till Rama Setu

The Central government on Wednesday approved the extension of Dhanushkodi railway line till Rama Setu. Notably, the railway line is 18 KM long and stretches from Rameswaram to Dhanushkodi.

Indian Railways will start the construction of 208 crore INR project as early as the next month.

Further, the Narendra Modi-led government has also given its nod to the construction of a bridge, which would be running parallel to 104-year-old Pamban Bridge, joining Rameswaram to mainland India. The cost of constructing the bridge is being estimated to be 250 crore INR.
