New IHG Dubai hotel to be 100% solar-powered

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Diamond have broken ground for Indigo Dubai Sustainable City, which will be 100% powered by solar energy.

Located in Dubai’s first sustainable integrated development, the 143-room will be a net-zero energy building, a statement from the company said.

It added that the architecture and interior across the will incorporate sustainability principles at every step of the guest journey and hotel operations, reports Arabian Business.

Pascal Gauvin, COO, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG said, “This will be a landmark from our portfolio within the region.”
